Healthy children learn well. Health development in early childhood and in the first 5 years of life play an important role in providing the basis of a healthy life and a successful formal school experience. Children coming to our rural schools are alternately provided with cooked meals, eggs, fruits and a glass of milk during school days.

Periodic health check-ups for children is an ongoing programme.
The Egg and Banana Project    
     
  The IOL Micro-Eye Surgery is a rural intervention to arrest the problem of cataract among the aged. 700 patients have been operated upon. This is an ongoing project.

DEWS collaborated with Indian Oxygen now BOC to operate two mobile medical vans to serve the rural hinterland. Several thousand people benefited from this basic health service.
